Linda E. Eddy

Linda Eddy is the SVP, Investor Relations and Assistant Corporate Secretary for FBR & Co., an equity capital markets firm providing investment banking, merger and acquisition, institutional brokerage, and research services. Ms. Eddy supports the objectives of the organization by managing the development and implementation of strategic financial and corporate messaging and by supporting the company’s Board of Directors.

Prior to joining FBR & Co., Ms. Eddy worked as the Director of Stakeholder Relations for the Center for Audit Quality, a nonprofit organization, funded by the Big Four audit firms, focusing on fostering high-quality performance by public company auditors. She also worked as the Director, Investor Relations at Freddie Mac, a public government sponsored entity created by Congress to support the secondary mortgage market and as the Manager, Investor Relations for Columbia Energy Group, Inc., a company engaging in the transmission and distribution of natural gas in the United Sates. Additionally, she was a Director of Market Services at The NASDAQ Stock Market. Ms. Eddy began her career as an investor relations consultant where her primary focus was on ownership identification and targeting. 

Ms. Eddy holds a B.S. in Finance and an MBA both from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).  She currently serves on the MBA Advisory Board of the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech and is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), the Society for Corporate Governance, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation’s Capital.

Keith E. Gottfried focuses his practice on advising public companies across the United States on activist defense matters. As the head of the firm’s market-leading shareholder activism defense practice, Keith counsels public companies—including boards of directors and special committees—with respect to preparing for and/or responding to high-profile proxy contests, special meeting demands, withhold and vote-no campaigns, shareholder proposals, and other activist shareholder campaigns, as well as contests for corporate control and negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions (M&A) situations.

Waheed advises clients in connection with Corporate Governance, M&A transactions, proxy contests, and other contested solicitations. Prior to joining Alliance, he managed the M&A/Proxy Contest research team at Institutional Shareholder Services ("ISS"). At ISS, he provided advisory vote recommendations on 100+ contested M&A transactions and proxy contests. Waheed was involved in several high profile proxy fights (Target, Barnes & Noble, NRG Energy, Office Depot). 

Previously, Waheed worked as a Senior Research analyst with Indosuez W.I. Carr Securities, UBS Warburg, and Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari (an affiliate of Merrill Lynch).  He was included among the #1 rated financial sector research analysts in The Reuters Survey of Global Emerging Markets 1998 and was a member of the #1 rated research team according to both The Reuters Survey of Global Emerging Markets 1999 and Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2000.   Waheed is a CFA charter holder and received an MBA with Beta Gamma Sigma honors from Vanderbilt University.
